Cellar and wine house

We bought the house of a former winemaker house in Erdőbénye which once belonged to the Szirmay estate. Later it became the residence of wine merchants. The last owner was the family of Armenian merchant Gyula Azbej.

We took our time with the renovations, – so for a few years this authentic building evoked the atmosphere of the so-called ruined pubs in Budapest – the reconstruction of the building was completed in 2014-15 by an EU grant. At that time, the three functions were established: the winery itself is situated in the the rear of the building; in the large rooms in the front of the house we formed a tasting room which can accommodate 20-25 people, and in the middle we created a two-room apartment with kitchen which is comfortable for two pairs or two families.
